Merriel M. Ebe

“Merriel M. Ebe, age 86, of Custer, WA passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012. Arrangements are pending with Moles Farewell Tributes Main St. Ferndale.” ~ Ferndale Record

Merriel M. Ebe went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2012 in Bellingham, Washington. She was born on January 17, 1926 in Bellingham to Luverne Linderman and Marion Knowles. She was a graduate of Bellingham High School, Western Washington University, and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. In addition to a satisfying career working as an R.N. Merriel worked for the Ferndale School District for eighteen years. On February 14, 1948 she married Aloys Ebe in Ferndale, Washington.

Merriel was an avid reader and gardener. She was also a weaver and involved with the Peach Arch Weaver’s Guild. Merriel was active in Catholic Daughters of America, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ferndale, the Bellingham Historical Society, the Whatcom Genealogical Society, and the Lynden Pioneer Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aloys and her son-in-law Fred Dorman Jr. Merriel. She is survived by her children Stephen Ebe, Elaine Dorman, and Carol Ebe-Leib (Robert); grandchildren Eric Ebe (Sarah), and Monica Dorman and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ferndale and the Lighthouse Mission, 901 W. Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225. A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 8th at 5:30 p.m. at Moles Farewell Tributes Ferndale, 2039 Main St, Ferdale, WA. A Rosary service will follow the visitation at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday August, 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 5781 Hendrickson Ave, Ferndale, WA. There will be a graveside service following the Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Enterprise Cemetery. After the graveside service there will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall at St. Joseph Church.
